When Philip evangelized the Ethiopian eunuch in Acts 8:26-39, God revealed 7 Wonderful Truths.
Truth #2: The gospel crosses all classes in society.
The Ethiopian was "important" (Acts 8:27). He had great authority and a better social standing and lifestyle than most people.
Problems can arise when we favor rich or famous people, and James 2:1-9 addresses this problem in the church. But we also must be careful not to be jealous, resentful, or insensitive to those with wealth and standing.
God loves people no matter their circumstances, and He has purposes for each of us (Ephesians 2:10).
Rich and famous people can be a blessing to the Kingdom of God by generously using their wealth and influence for God's benefit (1 Timothy 6:17-19).
Money is not the root of all kinds of evil. Love of money is (1 Timothy 6:10). And you need not be rich to love money.
So let's examine our hearts and make sure that we are neither ignoring nor favoring people based on their wealth or social standing.
